Shack Herf Rum Thread
OK, so I cannot offer a comprehensive list similar to the Bourbon thread, but I would like to start a Rum thread for the Shack Herf.
I will be bringing the following as of right now: 1. Zacapa 23 - St. Lou Stu x1 2. Ron Centranario XX - St. Lou Stu x1 I have been trying to land more Trini Zaya (I drank all of mine), but have been promised that they would have it for some 3 months now... no dice yet. Please feel free to update with a better list of good rums that we could bring and indicate what you would be willing to contribute, if anything. Also, if anyone would like me to pick up anything that you may have a hard time locating let me know as I have the world best liquor store. I would be happy to buy it and deliver it at the Shack if you could pp me fundage for it. Rum, Bourbon, Scotch....whatever. I'm driving up, so I have some room. Here is a link to the store... they have quite the selection. http://shoprandalls.com/categories.cfm?d=14 So what do ya say fellas? Let's get a good assortment to do some tasting!

I love the Zacapa 23.....I would be willing to bring something else someone is looking to try, suggest it here and I will check my local stores and add one to the list.

Re: Shack Herf Rum Thread
I think Zacapa 23 and Ron Centranario XX blow away any Cuban rums I have had.

Re: Shack Herf Rum Thread
The Zacapa and the Centranario XX are definitely 1-2 for me, sometimes in varying order depending on my mood. When we had the Havana Club Barrel Proof, it grew on me and was good, but I still like the others better.

Re: Shack Herf Rum Thread
Definitely agree Tom. Barrel Proof is good, but it is in a totally different flavor bracket.

Re: Shack Herf Rum Thread
Not going to be at Shack...but I have a few suggestions that people may like. Saint James Hors d'age, and El Dorado 12 or 15yr (both are quite good). Had them at a rum tasting we had locally last year. Been through a few bottles of the El Dorado 12yr.
