Default I'm thinking of buying a cabinet humidor...

For some reason, I'm thinking about buying a cabinet humidor. I've been looking at the Avallo and Aristocrat cooled units but due to the expense, I'm thinking of not worrying about the cooling issues and gamble on that. I've been looking at a few at cheaphumidors.com and this one:

http://www.qualityimporters.com/qual...ail.asp?ID=484

and this one:

http://www.cheaphumidors.com/HUM-LDCAB.html

I'm just wondering how the quality varies - like the drawers being "wobbly" or things like that. If I was smart I guess the Vino/drawers route would solve both problems. If it looked more like furniture I guess it would be an easy decision.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Brad

Aristocrat is the way to go. It's just me but if you rethink the temperature control option you can get one hell of a humidor from these folks. Best of luck with your decision, it's not easy.

Those both look nice. I'm just not ready to make that kind of a commitment . . . *sigh*

I'm not sure I am either...just thinking now. My desktop humi helps to keep my spending under control. I'm afraid a cabinet humidor would not help in that department.

Are you looking for storage or display. For storage I'd go with a coolerdor, frankly. For display, you can't beat the first one, but I imagine you could buy beaucoup ceegars for what it costs!

I'm looking for display and storage. If that first unit was cooled, I'd be in high cotton. I guess I could buy a vino and transplant the cooling guts to the first unit. Hmmmm....

I just bought a Montegue from Quality importer and I am very satisfied. I had looked also at the smaller one you are showing in your thread. Make the inside space calculation, you will see that his not that big (but this all depends on your need). Happy shopping

If you can swing it, I'd go with an Aristocrat. Bob builds a great cabinet that will last forever.
