Default Homemade smoker

I was recently on vacation to visit the family and my dad, brother, and myself rigged up this smoker. It's a converted Army field stove that my dad picked up at some point in time. We added a large water pan right above the coals and it did a good job of maintaining 200-225. We made room for three racks and the ribs and sausage turned out great! Sorry...no pics of the actual meat smoking. Anyway...it was a fun project.

Don't care if there's pics of the meat or not - just send me some ribs.

OLD stoves??

Jeezus.....I remember when we first GOT those stoves....in the MKT's...during Desert Shield!!!

Before that it was the big steel slab.....

You do realize we are STILL using those, right??

Find an M2 Stove or MBU and you have everything you need!!

They never should have gotten rid of the M2 burners or the MBU. Cooked like a champ!!
Still using them? Ever heard of this thing called transformation?

Gotcha Tobii...I forgot where I was for a minute!! Good old "Euslis". We have MKTs that are rust colored from lack of maintenance. And they like to cook out of the DFAC for the "field" (camping trip) as opposed to using the MKTs. Another reason why it was tme to retire!!
