Re: Saying "peace" as goodbye
"Peace out" is a hip-hop expression that is currently popular.
"Peace and love, sex and drugs, and rock and roll" is an older, longer version.

I'm pretty sick and tired of the "Cheers" as well. If you're not hoisting a glass, don't say it!
It's worse when it concludes an email.

Or, "Peace on you, too" may get the message across.

Dear Lord, Thank You.

Re: Saying "peace" as goodbye
I usually say "love ya, brother". Depends who I'm talking to. Sometimes it's "later, ****-knuckle."
I just talked to Verizon Wireless today. They said they'd forward the matter to the something or other resolution department and they'd get back to me in three to five days. I asked if something I had said earlier in the conversation had given him the inclination that I was somehow severely retarded, leading me to believe, that in fact, my call would be returned when it never has been in the past. That pretty much ended that conversation. Probably cost me $269.99, too. I hate those lying bastages. I'd like to punch Verizon in the face.

Another favorite is to tell people "Now go get your @#*%in' shinebox".
