Thermometers for smokers
I've got this http://www.chargriller.com/store/pro...396f7057e136ab
without any mods. So to keep an eye on temp I used something like this A couple hours into my ribs, the thermometer crapped out on me. Any suggestions? I typically rest the probe near the meat so I get an idea of the ambient air temp in there? I am doing it rightly/wrongly? Thanks |

I use this for the BBQ. It is pretty accurate.
http://www.kitchenkaboodle.com/produ...12!316&multi=0 If you want one that just goes into the hood, see if you have a Webber parts store nearby, grab the failed thermometer and see if they have a replacement.

Here is the one I use, LINK
As I stated in another thread, some of the user reviews are brutal, but I have had no problems out of mine. This one has a specific probe for the meat and a probe for the grill that is in a clip that will snap to the grate. |

Re: Thermometers for smokers
The Mavericks or the NuTemps are both quality units. What I used to do is put one of the probes inside stuck through a half of a potato. That way I was getting the grate temp. Worked for me...

Re: Thermometers for smokers
I have been using one of these for the last few months. It has been good to me.
