Reserva Miraflor corona
After some tweets from Andrew Wood I finally ordered a box through someone else who frequents the forums. The nicely padded parcel arrived in perfect condition, and oddly, no shrink wrap:
Still don't know what to call them exactly, GDW's? Madera's? Reserva Miraflor's? I'm going with the RM as Don Fernando posted a review of the robusto size. Had my third one today in the Girl Cave and finally got some good pics. They seem to be a true corona size, which I'm not used to buying and enjoying since the big ones usually get more of my attention. |

Second from the left next to more familiar bands and sizes:
They feel great and smell lovely right out of the box. From previous experience with super easy draw on the first two, I made the tiniest nick on the cap before lighting. LOADS of delicious smoke and a delightful room note. First third ash is firm, latter two thirds kind of flaky. But the flavors! OMG! From the first stick I have to keep reminding myself this is NOT a well seasoned Cuban of similar size! Thick, smooth, powerful, creamy flavors, peppery and mocha-like completely satisfied all my dark chocolate and espresso receptors. And I have a lot of those. Took an hour and a half but I nubbed it. Highly recommended. HIGHLY. I'd like to snag two or three boxes to haul down to SoCalX. |

Re: Reserva Miraflor corona
They are tasty, aren't they.
I sent a half box of the lanceros to Seattle with Charlie to pass out at the Mossback herf tonight. Should be popular.

Hopefully I'll see the mossbacks some Tuesday night next month. This should be my final week as an evening/weekend tax filer volunteer. It's been a long four months but *very* satisfying helping people less fortunate than myself. |

Nice pics and review. I just received my first box of RM's, belicosos (though they actually look more like torps, to me). My box was not wrapped either, and like yours, was shipped in bomb-proof packing. I went ahead and lit one up when I got home from work and went to walk the mutt. Pretty nice!!!

Re: Reserva Miraflor corona
its named after a nature reserve in Nicaragua, as a home tribute, our first 2 lines are 100% nicaraguan, the second that you have not tried yet is called Goviado. Im working on doing write ups on both locations. Im glad you like them as others do Joan. Glad we met, I am in portland so let me know when you might be passing by.
