Default H. Upmann By AJ Fernandez Toro

https://www.altadisusa.com/cigars/h-...n-aj-fernandez

So, this lovely cigar comes to me via my COTM club once again. I believe this is the last of them to review this month. I smoked one prior to this and found it be be quite good and very typical AJ Fernandez in it's flavors with it's sweetness and spiciness. AJ has been knocking it out of the park lately with their blends so without further ado let's review this cigar!

Wrapper: A near flawless reddish milk chocolate wrapper with maybe one small vein and a single cap

Draw: perfect draw with some wood and cinnamon tones

Wood, spice, cinnamon, vanilla, slightly creamy finish to start, honey, The wood flavor is just a very generic wood flavor, it has a very nice spicy/savory flavor to it, now it’s developing from generic wood to a more spanish cedar flavor, definite campfire flavors, earthiness,

spanish cedar earthiness, vanilla, nutmeg, white pepper, some spice, nice and creamy finish now, more campfire with a burnt marshmallow flavor,

Spanish cedar, earthiness, vanilla, spiciness, still has a creamy finish, white pepper, campfire still present, small hints of caramel, there is some sweetness coming in at the end, if the rest of the cigar tasted like the last 1/3rd this would be something special,

Ash/Burn: Ash was tight and well packed with little to no shedding and the burn was fairly even throughout

Final Thoughts: This cigar started as a spanish cedar/wood bomb but settled down into some typical AJ flavors. There isn't a lot of sweetness to this cigar. it's more of a savory woody smoke. Pepper and spice didn't start to build until the halfway point. Would I pick this cigar up again if I had a choice to pay for it? probably not but i'm just being honest. Maybe the flavors weren't hitting me right today but I wanted more from this cigar. That's not to say it's a bad cigar just not my style. I would recommend you at least try it and see if it's right for you though. I hope you enjoyed my little review today ad have a blessed day! God bless you all!

Good review. I quite enjoy these, but wouldn't have it as a daily smoke.

I smoke real HUpmann’s all the time. PCs, mostly. $3.50 a stick. Sublime. How does that compare with these fakes?
