Reserva MiraFlor
First thoughts are this wrapper is oily, has a unique smell to it, something of tobacco, no barnyard poo smell that I love but hey, we can't always smell poo on all our cigars right? Color is that of a light coffee bean brown. Draw is good, enough resistance so you're not sucking straight air and loose enough so you're not trying to suck a triple thick shake through a straw.
First half inch I was getting a strange leathery white pepper flavor that was about medium strength to it. The pepper flavor is hitting the back of my mouth. Ash is giving nice small rings to it that are dark grey with a white grey base. Ash sticking on.... though I bumped it off....fell into my truck...whoops! As I make half way through the smoke the pepper is a fleeting memory that is letting me know it's still there though just slightly. There is a flavor I'm trying to describe. You get that leather with an earthiness to it. There are subtle toasted flavors similar to a mix of toasted almonds mixed with toasted bread, then that leaves the aftertaste of the pepper / leather. One thing to note that this cigar is putting out a good deal of medium thick smoke. I'm liking it. My mouth is watering a sweet taste as well. The nose exhale provides amonia if you push too much, if you find the right amount you get a sweet toasted nut flavor. Also if you don't handle nicotine well you might want to have something with you to counter it. This is giving me a small buzz.... There was a small lopsided burn that corrected itself within 7-9 minutes. Last third the cigar is mellowing out, though giving me a nic buzz..... pepper is there in the finish that leaves my mouth dry... wishing I had a coke right now. I'm still getting that sweet watering in my mouth with the overall light pepper burn on my tongue. So in all this was an above average cigar for me. Average is something I'd smoke just because, I'll give these another try after a few weeks sitting, as they've been just mailed to the cold north and only had about a week to rest. Total smoke time was 1 hour 17 minutes. |

Thanks for the thorough review, Dan.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who enjoyed this stick.
