Dutch Oven Apple Crumble
Holly and I have been enjoying the Dutch Ovens again lately. This weekends project was Apple Crumble with apples straight from my cousins trees on his farm in Ohio.
Yes, I know this looks like charcoal, but the apples are INSIDE the oven! Ohhh that smell! DELICIOUS! Didn't last long. Only thing that would make it better was if we had thought to make Homemade Ice Cream to go with it.

I look at that and think "Yeah, I could eat the whole thing."

Re: Dutch Oven Apple Crumble
Holly was putting ingredients together while I fired up the coals and preheated the oven. To be honest, I think she pretty much "winged" the ingredients for the most part. I know we used a couple dozen or so fresh apples, some cornstarch, cinnamon sugar and crushed up graham crackers for the topping . Cooked in the oven for about 25 minutes (10" oven, could have cut it back to 20 minutes or so) at ~375*F (7 coals below, 19 on top). I'll check with her when I get home and see if I missed anything.
Did I mention they were delicious? I finished the last bit I had stashed away in the back of the fridge last night, so I may have to force myself to try it again soon...
