A Tupperware or Rubbermaid food container. Or a small cooler.

I also recommend a week long seasoning of your current humi plus thinking about what your using for humidification.

Re: best sealing desktop humi 30ct ish
I am a young guy and would like to show off my small cigar collection, the coolerdoors although appear to be the lowest maintenance are not appealling to me. I dont mind doing more work to maintain a nice looking wooden humidor.

$150 is a great deal for that kind of materials and quality. Compare to a Savoy, which is a decent name, at $90-100. But the Savoy is still just veneered MDF mass produced in some factory in China. Usually they are ok, but ultimately all they are is slightly better than the one the OP already has. The one from Ed is actually real wood, solid and quality construction and if made in the USA means anything to you, they are that too. |

Best seal that I can think of...very little maintenance on your part plus a boveda packet or two would probably keep it humidified for quite a while. I would try the 40 count.

I have the steel version that was used as coffee can which I converted to a humidor for my coffee/infused smokes. This holds at 70% Rh for about a year now without any source. I would say that holds pretty damn good. This will be clean and show off your smokes, wont hold 30 but a decent amount. BTW here is my mod post on it. I check once a month with my digital hydro http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=60337 |
