He Who Dares...WINS!

Finally upgraded
Many years ago I had purchased a decent size humidor for myself while going through Rota. All hand made, with a simple skeleton key lock.
It has served me faithfully for about 15 years and holds about 250 to 300 cigars. But more recently I find myself needing more space and running out of room. I thought to myself "Self, obviously you aren't smoking enough!" But then I went back and saw that I'm spending about double on stogies that I used too and storing a lot of them for longer for more flavour and letting them "settle" more than I used to as well. In other words, I'm getting finicky. It was time brethren. Time for change. Time for something new. So I decided to let Beyonce upgrade me. Behold the new Humidor! I know a few members here have this model and had been looking at it for a few years. Most of the data I had seen said it either seals great or seals awful (as is true of most humidors I reckon) but the prime culprit most folks seem to say is the outlet. So I siliconed the outlet, put a light bead around most the seams and I'm letting it dry currently before I put my old Oasis in there to bring it up to humidity. Looking forward to having more moving room in the old cigar case finally! http://www.registeredevil.com/?attachment_id=4740 |

Re: Finally upgraded
Have the same one Joe, another thing I would suggest is getting some 'foam' weather stripping and putting it around the inside of the door to help with the seal there.
Grats on the upgrade! |
