For a slow techy, I discovered the world
Man,
Just learned how to do partial screen shots on my Mac. I had learned how to do a full page but there is a way of doing just part of it. I learn every day, even at 50. Amazing! Here is the link with the info: http://www.apple.com/pro/tips/screen...sr=hotnews.rss

Under Utilities in Applications, there's a program called "Grab".
It can do all of the above, plus take TIMED screenshots (ie 10 second delay). Consider your mind blown.

not for screen shots, but when you want to tile up all the windows you have open. Put in a DVD, start playing a game of poker, edit some photos, pull some imovie clips together, blah blah blah, then hit the F9 key to easily sort through them or jump to an open application without screwing around with the dock.

Leopard provides Spaces which allows you to flow from program to program, sort of what you allude to.

Heck, just discovered fire.
Can we take it slow here? BTW, when you are married as long as I have been, I am well aware of "grab" but it has a different meaning than what you are referring to.

Spaces is a virtual desktop program, so you have a bunch of different desktops to work on as it were (I like mine to be set up to use 4). If I'm on desktop 1 where I'm using Word, Firefox, and Excel and hit F9 then all of those windows will show. If I have windows open at the same time, but on a different desktop (say iTunes and Quicktime on desktop 2) they won't show until I switch to that desktop. If you're using a desktop with one of the newer desktops, you may have to reassign the key shortcut for the F9 function that replicant-argent referred to because on these keyboard F9 is also used to raise the volume. |
