Default Lighter issues

I need the wisdom of this forum. My lighter wont fill with butane. When I hook the nozzle to it it just shoots all over the place almost like its blocked. This has never happened before so I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

My Vector lighters need an adapter to fill properly... Most cans (except Colibri) include plastic adaptors.

Try putting your lighter in the freezer for 10-15 minutes prior to filling. The cold lighter will help draw in the butane. Also make sure you do not shake the can before filling.

Haha the freezer wasnt what froze it. It was the butane spraying out and cold lighter combo.

Have you tried filling from a different can of butane?

I've had nozzles on the cans get damaged and as a result they either won't seal well enough to the fill valve on the lighter to force the butane in or fit well enough to depress the fill valve on the lighter to allow butane in. Depending on how badly the nozzle on the can is expanded, fill adapters sometimes won't even help.
