Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
Well we have been smoking together just about every night for the past 2 months here in the Kingdom of Bahrain. I got Mike to sign up on CA so everyone give a little welcome.
Anyway we have decided that tonight and here after we are going to review our smokes of the night. Neither of us are cigar reviewers so bare with us as we smoke, pick at guitars, drink a little liquor, and shoot the bull....

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
So I smoked one of these last night and have to say that I really enjoyed it, so we thought we would fire one up together.
It is a little longer than I like to smoke and the ring gauge is around a 50 I would prefer something a little thicker. I toasted the foot to start this baby off, the draw seems nice and easy The first thing I taste is a little bit of cedar

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
Just like last night I am having a little bit of a uneven burn, and the whole cigar seems to be getting a little bit looser

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
Tonight we're both having these Dominican Solamentes. Shawn had one at our last herf and so tonight I tried one on his request. We're each about halfway through 'em, and they've got a somewhat lighter taste than I usually go for, but tasty nonetheless. They've got a good draw, but somewhat inconsistent burn - two of the three that we've got going tonight are burning all sideways on us. Overall, pretty tasty, though!

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
Still burning uneven and seems like a fast burn.
About 2/3 though the stick and seems to have a little bit of a spicy taste to it.

Well we're not babying the thing either like our friend across the table
And it will burn all the way down because it is tasting that good right now I have talked another one into joining the forum Billy or as he wants to go by Scof222

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
Yeah, Billy's Solamente has a nice even burn, but he's been somewhat more gentle with his than the abuse Shawn and I have put ours through. That might be what these sticks are built for.

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
Alright I am done because it just went out on me, I tried to suck some life into it but got nothing in return. It was burning fast and uneven but it really tasted great. That was a good smoke that I could see going with an before dinner drink.
It loosed up at the end I think that the binding was falling apart on me but that tells me that it is a hand rolled cigar, still trying to figure if it was pressed or not. Maybe Billy will put in his , cause that would be all that he could offer here.

I don't have much of a rating system but out of a 10 I will give that a 7

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
Hmm, I am at a loss for how to rate it, actually...I'd probably give it a 6 or so due to the quality of the build despite it's good taste.

Re: Tonights smoke with Mike and Shawn- Solamente
So what if I'm babying it. I'm new to this cigar smoking. So here's my review. This cigar is full of flavor and is very tasty, and go's good with Ale-8. If you have to re-light it will burn uneven. But I found my new favorite( until my next)
