Re: St Louis Cardinals Fans Sound Off!
Against all odds, and with the full commentator forces aligned against such a win!!! Listening to the announcers at the front of the game, you'd think there was no use watching the game, because there was NO WAY St. Louis could win!!
GO CARDS!!!!! Way to hang in there and prevail!!

So Tony LaRussa is going out on top. Retiring after 33 years.

This smells of Pujols leaving.

Re: St Louis Cardinals Fans Sound Off!
I figured Francona would land in STL, but after hearing that Quade got canned today, he'll probably re-unite with Epstein in Chicago.

Belated congratulations to the Cards for their 2011 Championship.
Brian Cashman has announced that the Yankees' off-season concerns are pitching, pitching, pitching, and that he has no interest in trying to improve their offense as he sees it as being sufficient already. To me, this means Pujols in Pinstripes as DH next year.

Re: St Louis Cardinals Fans Sound Off!
Pujols in the DH role spells his death nail to me. As much as I hate the Cards right now (b/c of the Reds rivalry from 2010) I cannot wish Albert to end that way (in the dh spot). I don't want to see him end up like Dunn. He needs to be a position player, and hopefully he'll stay in STL.

As far as the Reds go.... I might be going to the Reds St Louis game in April while I'm at my parents house near Louisville. |

Re: St Louis Cardinals Fans Sound Off!
RIP Bob Forsch. Only 61 years old ... some of you may have seen him throw out the first pitch for game 7 last week.
Pitched for the Cards from 1974-88. Right hander with a record of 163-127 and a 3.67 career ERA with the Cards. He is remembered most as the only St Louis pitcher to ever throw 2 no-hitters. I remember him best as a competitor ... sort of a Chris Carpenter of his day. In addition to being a gritty pitcher, he could also handle the bat ... won 2 Silver Slugger awards. As Ozzie says ... heaven just got a new starter. |
