Re: Cowboys Asylum
Hopefully Garrett and his kindergarten playbook take a head coaching position somewhere else and we get Shanahan!

Re: Cowboys Asylum
I just don't see Shanahan even considering it with Jerra still running things. Shanahan is like Parcells in that he requires full control and knows that with Jerra around he won't get it

Re: Cowboys Asylum
Forget the coaching spot.
You guys need a QB.

Re: Cowboys Asylum
We need a Off coord who doesn't send the receivers out on 25yrd routes every play. We need a coord who will establish a run game. We need a coord that is not so predictable that the other teams know every play we are going to run. We need an offensive line that gives the QB more than 1 sec to throw the ball. If we get that, I think you see a different Tony Romo.

Re: Cowboys Asylum
I've been a fan since I was a boy in the 60's, but Jerry is making it tougher and tougher. A coach (who is a complete dumbass) who has no control over his own staff. Jerry let the best part of the coaching team and front office leave for Miami. And after a completely humiliating season he wants "continuity". How such a successful busineman can be such a complete moron is beyond me.

Re: Cowboys Asylum
Hmmmm - you know, Romo now has 2 complete seasons under his belt. Comparing his first two seasons to Hall of Fame (2006) Troy Aikman's first two seasons: Aikman won exactly 8 games - Romo has 20+ wins not counting his half season of 2006. He also has 2 pro bowl selections. As for records: 16 games with 300+ yards over Aikmans 13. 36 passing touchdowns over Danny Whites 29. First Dallas quarterback to throw over 4,000 years in a season. And tied with Aikman for 5 touchdown passes in one game. And this after 2 1/2 years on the job. Personally I think Garret left a lot to be desired with his play calling this year. Added to the mix a front line that can't pass block nor open a lane for the running backs. And why even trade for Roy Williams if your not going to use him - waste of talent there. Plenty of blame to go around for a team with this much talent. As a fan since 1962 through the good and bad - well there is always next year - hopefully. Ron |

Re: Cowboys Asylum
Exactly. Except, I don't think he is as good as people think.

I'm not saying Romo is the greatest thing since sliced bread now - but which Aikman are you comparing him too? The two years under his belt Aikman or the ten year veteran Aikman? Makes a difference. At the two year mark it's Romo hands down. Will it change at the 3, 4 or 5 year mark? Maybe. Maybe not. Just have to see. Ron |

Re: Cowboys Asylum
Romo moves better than Aikman but doesnt throw better right now. Give him a solid O-Line and time to throw and any QB can look like a star. I think we need to start with the coaching. Jones knows what he's doing or they wouldnt have 5 rings. He'll do the right thing im sure. I would love to start with getting rid of TO.
