MY grandfather always added a couple of shakes of salt to the top of the grounds when making drip coffee. Putting it on top of the froth probably makes more sense as you'd get more taste for a given amount of salt.

Putting salt on coffee takes out the bitterness in the coffee.

When I make chocolate gelato for my shops I usually add a big pinch of kosher salt to each 4 liter batch. It "enhances" the flavor of the chocolate.
I would assume it does the same to the coffee, since coffee and cocoa are so similar.

My new inlaws put an egg to 4 scoops of coffee mix it up looks like browne mix. then drop into a rolling boil of stove top water. It does take out any bitterness but they drink foldgers?? I did an internet search seems to have come from Scandinavia?? le tme know if other have heard or tried this.

Well, I tried putting a little sea salt on top of my latte and thought it was OK. It did indeed bring out some additional flavors of the espresso and was very much worth giving a try. I don't know if I'd do this too often, but I'm sure I'll be having another go at it this morning.

Salted coffee reminds me of salted caramel, could be OK. But I won't be trying their other ideas:
"After creating salt coffee, the outlet plans to launch "cheese coffee" and "fruity coffee" - by adding cheese and mashed fruit to the coffee." |
