I am keeping track of the cigars I am having with a cigar app on my HTC. Some brands I like.. I liked most of the Alec Bradley I have tried, Harvest selction, SCR, Prensado. Gurkha Park ave. I liked that.. so far that is the only Gurkha i liked Nica Libre 1990 is good. I can smoke that alot. Ones I want to try/on my list are; Punch(never), more Carlos Torano(few, can't remember which), Rocky Patel(only had the R4. Cant find a decent sampler, http://www.thompsoncigar.com/product...ts?cm_vc=10572 have only had the decade in there), Padron(same, can't find a good sampler to try most of them), Perdomo.(I have only had the Lot 23, i think), Padilla(never), Gurkha Empire(Good sampler from CI), Pinar Del Rio(never). That is a lot to try, So I still have plenty to do. I am looking for good prices and decent amount. I dont want to spend alot (which i know i will have to) and end up not liking them and being stuck with a few. I can always bomb some people. I haven't been here long enough to see who likes what or even have addresses. I haven't had a 5 Vegas that I even would recommend to anyone. There was a bunch I have tried from another site in a newb trade, But I didn't keep track like I am now. |

Re: Need Cigars!
Have you participated in the NST yet?
That is a great way to sample cigars you might not otherwise encounter.

Exhale through your nose rather than your mouth. Sometimes called "retrohaling" or "snorking".

No reason you can't do both.

Re: Need Cigars!
Cigarmonster & joecigar tend to repeat products often so it's very likely they will be back sometime within the next few months.

Re: Need Cigars!
My personal advice would be to start on the mild end. CI (cigarsinternational.com) offers plenty of mild sampler packs that can get you going. Once you build up your palate a bit you can then go onto some mild-medium body smokes. After you find yourself craving more (and you will) try some full body smokes. Remember that darker smokes don't always mean they are heavy and full body.
I love getting sampler packs because you can pick and choose what you like most as a smoker. Happy smoking!

Re: Need Cigars!
I'd second Peter's (pnoon) WISE advice about the Newbie Samplier Trade. That is where I got my start and met people and got a little experience on this board.
Good advise also to start at the mild to med end of the scale...and work your way up as your tastes change to the fuller end of the profile. There is no hurry take your time, enjoy the moment, and your cigars...really that is what cigars are all about. |

Re: Need Cigars!
As someone who has lurked on this CA/CS for about five years, reading is the absolute best thing you can do at this point. Most of the people hear have good knowledge and lots of experience in this great hobby of ours and some, a few of which have already posted in this thead, have astounding amounts of insight and wisdom to pass on. Start with the sticky threads and then go dive into the reviews. Find reviews of cigars you already like and see if there are certain posters who have similar tastes and see what they like that you haven't smoked.
As others have said, use the NST. I took full advantage of that at CS and it really was the one thing I can point to that secured my interest in cigars. Even if that is the only trading you do, it will go a long way to not only help you develop your palate but show you the caliber of people that share this great hobby. Regardless of how active you decide to be here, enjoy the ride. Posted via Mobile Device |
