Back Home
We are finally back home.
Our house is fine other than smelling like a camp fire, and the fact that our water supply is now contaminated with E Coli ... And the mountains and forrest all around us is burned to a crisp. This has been one of those life altering things ... makes you look at life from a different angle. We stayed out at the Diamond K ranch, one of the small ranches I used to wrangle for. The owner is a long time good friend and he made us an offer that is probably going to change our lives in a big way .... More on that later .... For now we are home and getting things squared back away.

Re: Back Home
Glad to hear you're back home, Jeff.
A family friend was finally able to make it up to our place two days ago and discovered it hadn't burned down like we thought! The firefighters were able to clear firebreaks all around it and used that as the front line for that particular front. Looking at pictures, though, everything around it is burned as you described and makes my heart hurt. I'm hoping to make it out before too long and try to take it all in in person.

Glad the spread is safe, Jeff, even if the landscape took a charring. Most of all, glad you and the Missus are OK.

All things considered, that is great news.
All the best in getting your life back to "normal".

Re: Back Home
Great news, Jeff! While things can be replaced, it is always a huge relief when you don't have to. Still keeping those who lost so much in our thoughts and prayers.
