This weekend I had my 1st Opus X at Casa Fuente in Las Vegas. A great smoke. a little strong with a great spice kick. I would say a "V" cut for me on these sticks.

I also ran out of time to go back on sunday to pick up a box of house sticks. Shame on me! |

had one with about a year of rest on it last week. It was outstanding. A little more mellow than I remember but worth the wait. I need to get a couple more for resting purposes. I have a Casa Fuente resting as well, how do they compare I have never had a casa before?

If you got your first Opus at Casa Fuente you paid dearly for it! I have been there and it's a great shop but the prices are very high! Still, when in Rome...

Therein lies the Opus conundrum, I buy as many as I can afford at a time, usually 5 or 6, then smoke them randomly when I crave them and never have any that reach full aging potential.

I just bought my first at my local B&M. $18. Is this a reasonable price? Probably gonna let it sit till next spring/summer. I might go back and get another one just to smoke so i know what some age does to them. Can't wait for my first!!

Which one was it? BTW - my recommendation, smoke it, then, IF you like it, go back to buy one to age.

People seeking out opus and Anejo: keep an eye on Emersons of Norfolk. Great seller and decent prices. Not affiliated with them, just a customer.

6 years should make for a good experience with an Opus. I couldn't wait that long, but I bet it will have been worth it.

same here. I always make a point to buy 5 or 10, but have never been able to age any. The only one in the humi that is over a year old is a shark, and it's so pretty I don't know if I'll ever be able to torch it.
