My guess is that they are the second hands. It seems that you alternate reading them. The bigger hand goes from [6]0-30 (outer numbers); The smaller red hand shows 30-60 (inner numbers).

You're correct. When I first looked at the watch, I thought I saw a seconds hand, but it was the shadow of the minute hand in the photo. I first thought it was odd to have the jumping counter while there's a seconds hand (which there isn't).

Hamilton is owned by Swatch Group, so it's a quality piece for the money. Swatch owns a ton of big name watches, not to mention ETA movements.

I am big fan of this watch which is under $140 made by Swatch. Swiss made, automatic, skeleton, hip and fun.

Yes, it's just a standard sub second. The difference being only the markers are on one half instead of a full circle. 0 to 30 using the larger end of the second hand and using the shorter red end to read 30 to 60.

I've been looking around for some new bling ever since my super bling watch purchase from around Xmas fell through (raising the price $13K is, for me a show stopper).

Not quite a matched set (the submariner is from '03), but I'm hoping that they'll mate and have kids.

I really like the new micro adjustment for the band that is built in to the clasp as well. Not overly fond of which hour hand is for local and which for the monitored timezone, but I will adapt.

Yes. Wish that the numbers were a tiny bit smaller, like the submariner, but oh well.

A GMT function is something I would like on a watch. By now, I know inherently what time it is in the other zone I care about. Rolex does it very well for a sporty watch that is light on the wrist.

The IWC UTC is one of my favorite 2 time zones without being too fancy.

You dont need to spend 350 for a skeleton. they either tend to be under 150 for cheapies. or about 400-600 for a decent one.

I WOULD REC ORIENT! (wait for the 50% coupons they FREQUENTLY put out for first tiem buyers}
http://www.orientwatchusa.com/urban-c-44_47.html

Bulova and Kenneth cole also make decent watches... and sell skeletons/openhearts

Also, Michael Kors makes a GREAT Quality watch, im sure they have skellies.

A reliable "Swatch" brand can be had for under 150.00

Also, look for skeletons with Unitas ETA 6497 movement.

Finally, i say just buy one of these.... looks cool as heck (Panerai homage)

inexpensive as well.

CLiffs notes:
1. Bulova
2. Orient (50% off)
3. Michael Kors
4. Kenneth Cole
6. PAM Homage

If you look at the hand the large white end is for the 0-30 and the short red tail counts the 30-60. It still spins like normal its just a little different gauge to read it by. Pretty cool imo.

Just saw your post. Love that watch you put pics up of. Thanks for all the info. Just got my black and gold Invicta Corduba yesterday and it is HUGE. I love it.

Not really. Maybe. Just a little.

The submariner went back for the periodic maintenance service on Monday. The jeweler had to insure it per the current Rolex chart. The value was listed at $11,400. Paid $6,200 8 years ago. Not bad appreciation. Still haven't decided if I want to keep it to give my nephew for a wedding present (one day, nothing planned now) or sell it off to realize the profit.

The GMT-Master II didn't seem heavier when I had them in the hands, but on wrist it seems quite a bit heavier.

Saving a few pennies as this is going to be my next! It may not be for everyone, and not the most expensive, but I fell in love with it the first time I saw it.
