I just realized a very economical fix, dual boot with XP. Then I can run Sonar albeit with only 4 G of DDR3 but should be enough for my needs. Best of all.... Free.

So after doing some research I found that you can get an UPGRADE from Sonar 1-6 to SONAR 8.5 PE for $199 which really isn't that bad considering industry norms and all the improvements. so i am seriously considering that. One of the interesting changes is V-Vocal will take AUDIO and convert it to MIDI Data! Havn't used it but the possibilities for a guitarist are pretty mind boggling.
