Re: Eclipse viewing
Gonna eat Sun Chips and a Moon Pie today. Supposed to be 91% eclipse here, it's cool and all but not worth getting in a mass of humanity to get into the 100% zone further south. I am going to check "gas buddy" in the totality belt to see how much the eclipse chasers are getting hosed.

I watched Gas Buddy pages from a couple cities in the totality area, and saw no gouging. Color me surprised.

Got my shadow box ready
Not gonna spend $15 on a pair of paper glasses that may or may not work for one use

I was going to bring my arc welding helmet to work, but it's only a #12 gold and you're supposed to have a #14 for viewing. So, it looks like I'm watching it on the internet.

Re: Eclipse viewing
Not in the total eclipse line, but might get to see something if the clouds go away.

Re: Eclipse viewing
Threw the shadowbox away the first time I looked through somebody else's glasses, before the thing even happened

Re: Eclipse viewing
Clouds are pretty bad right now, but I did get a halfway decent pic.

Re: Eclipse viewing
Glad I saw a tip online to look at the shadow of tree leaves if they're dense enough to only let a little light come through, the picture on the left was when it was at it's peak (92% totality according to the internet), the one on the right was a few hours later to compare, same tree

Re: Eclipse viewing
Only about 70% here, so Joisey not as much in the dark as much of the nation. Watched it the two safest way possible . . . first half on TV, then went out with a cigar and stood under a tree, looking at the shadows like Ben above.
