Ebonite stem help
I have all these estate pipes I'm cleaning up. I did an Oxy Clean soak which turned them a grey or brown or white. Hit them with a Magic Eraser then some micro mesh. I have Decatur Haze Away, Shine Bright, No Ox stem oil, Pipe Shield and Tripoli and Carnuba wax. I can get the stems shiny and pretty but they won't turn completely black. They are staying partially brown and it is frustrating me. I've tried all the compounds and different steps but no combination is working. Any advice?

I'll try pop up a step by step....
Jets are playing tonight - I might need to retire to the workshop so as not to experience chest pain....

Re: Ebonite stem help
My problem was after the Oxy bath I didn't clean off all that was brought to the surface. I learned to use that Magic Eraser until there is no more brown coming off. Solved my problem. They turned black before I even started buffing. I wish it was easier to post pics here. Won't accept any uploads from my phone.
