Whats with all the flat football helmets?

First college, and now the pros. More and more teams are going to a flat color scheme instead of glossy. Am I the only one left who prefers a shiny helmet? I'm here to say I don't like it. I don't like it at all.

I think flat paint on cars is ugly too. I must be getting old.
