Dumping ash
Who dumps ash while still smoking?
Some if the tobaccos I'm trying develop a really fine ash on the top which tends to drift up sometimes and gets on the top of my pipe- I end up turning my pipe over and letting the loose fine ash fall out into my Stinky ashtray Is that normal? How many others do this also?

Re: Dumping ash
I will dump ash depending on how the smoke is going, and the size pipe I am smoking, also if a pipe goes out and needs a new charring light I dump the ash to expose the fresh tobacco

Re: Dumping ash
I normally don't dump ash mid bowl, it helps to smoke cooler if you simply tamp ash down and keep smoking.

Re: Dumping ash
I dump when needed. Now that I think about it though I dont think I have dumped passed mid bowl. I seem to dump more when smoking a flake.
