Default Shipping cigars

Hey all,

What shipping method do you use when you sell/trade/bomb? Do you send USPS?

USPS is the cheap way to do it, plus you get an extra day of delivery with the one Saturday.

I've always used USPS for the flat rate boxes, but I had somebody tell me that you're not supposed to ship tobacco products via USPS. I need to get onto the USPS website and see if there is any truth to that though.

USPS specifically allows shipping cigars. You agree to a disclaimer that states you are not mailing cigarettes or smokeless tobacco, but there is an addendum that states, "Note: these rules do not apply to cigars, which continue to be mailable matter."

Priority Flat Rate is pretty much the standard for mailing out bombs and trades and such.

Flate Rate Priority with Delivery Confirmation. Every time. Unless the package is worth over $100, in which case I will add insurance.

Just went to USPS website...

"Cigars are excluded from the mailability ban, and therefore may be mailed regardless of any conditions required for the mailing or other applicable products under the PACT Act exceptions. "

USPS, if you could fit 100lbs in the box...it's still the same price. I've had good luck with my shipments getting delivered in 2 days, others have reported it takes longer, buy I live in the middle of the country.

I've even used the flat rate boxes to ship and receive lead bullets, hilarious to watch the mail man with a flat rate box he can barely lift. If it fits it ships can be good for a laugh or two.

I thought flat rate boxes were limited to 75lbs. I could be wrong or they could have changed that rule. I usually use usps as well.

Close. 70 lbs is the max weight for any USPS shipment unless a lower max weight is specified by the class of service (ie: 1st class 13oz, international priority 20lbs in a large flat rate or as dictated by the country of final destination, etc.)

I tried ups recently but they said no. USPS ended up being cheaper and faster though, so it worked out.
