5.9 Earthquake
Did anybody feel the earthquake centered in VA just now?
Internet says it was a 5.8, we felt it pretty good here in PA. Edit: They just upgraded it to a 5.9

I was just talking to a client in NJ when he stopped mid sentenced and followed with "Holy Sh*t, I think we're having an earthquake." I asked, "You sure someones not running a heavy piece of machinary outside." Turns out he was right.

Re: 5.8 Earthquake
I was born and raised in SoCal, this was very small by comparison but I never expected to feel an earthquake in PA!

Re: 5.8 Earthquake
It's a different story for the East Coast. With the Appalachians and the rock strata, quakes travel much, much, much, much farther than they do in California. Most west coast quakes rarely have any effect or notice outside a 150 mile radius. But they have a much greater effect within that 150 miles. As can be seen from this quake, the effects were felt and recognized more than 500 miles away! But no damages reported, because the effects are dissipated better than is possible on the west coast.
But, apparently, the greatest fear (understandable) was that there were more 9/11 attacks that were shaking the buildings! Not a fear that the West Coast has had to deal with! As a father with a son and a daughter-in-law, and as a brother with a sister, brother-in-law, two nephews and a niece ALL less than 100 miles from the epicenter, I don't begrudge them being concerned. AT ALL. Just saying!!

Re: 5.8 Earthquake
Our building was evacuated here in DC and they just let us back in. I'm on the 9th floor and that was really spooky. Started as a low rumble in the floor and then it felt like the whole building was swaying.

Re: 5.8 Earthquake
It wobbled me around in my chair. Only lasted for about 3 seconds here in Ohio.
I thought I imagined it, but Lisa just texted and asked if I felt it. That's my first ever.
