Default Cuban Cigar Suggestions?

I have a buddy going to the Bahamas this week and he offered to pick up a box of cigars from a small island nearby that may or may not start with C. Any suggestions? I like the bigger calliber (6x60, 7x58) sticks...

Appreciate any tips.

Thanks!

The only advise I have is to be careful... there's a 99.9% chance you're gonna get fakes.

My tip would be not discussing any type of shipping methods on illegal products on an open forum.

Second, make sure he buys from a real La Casa del Habanos.

I'd probably go for Cohiba Esplendidos since you want larger rg's.

Typically Cubans are not above 50-52rg

I would suggest H. Upmann Magnum 50s, Partagas Serie D no 2s or 4s, Ramon Allones Specialty Selected or Bolivar Belicoso Finos.

But as stated above, educate your friend on buying fakes. LCDH or not at all.

I agree with both. I don't believe there is a LCDH in the Bahamas, so unless your buddy has significant experience, he'll be buying fakes (especially if he's buying Cohibas). Of course, if they're fakes they're probably not even from Cuba and therefore not illegal!

Partagas salmones or Cuaba diamedmes are the largest CCs I'm aware of, RG wise. Those are both 55+ RG.

The only legit Cubans in the Bahamas are in the store in the Atlantis resort. Everything else in the area is 100% fake.

And as mentioned above, we do not allow discussion on how to skirt U.S. law here.

Esplindido's? They are only 47 rg.

If you are looking for jawbreakers:

Cohiba Behike 52, 54 or 56 or Sig VI 52rg
Monte Edmundo 52rg
Monte Sublimes 54rg
RyJ Wide Churchills 55rg
RyJ Duke 54rg

FWIW, I wouldn't bother even at Atlantis. Also, smaller rg = bigger flavor.

Very true on fake cohibas. They are the most counterfeited cuban cigar, because they have the largest income potential.

Partagas PSD4 is an excellent choice as well.

Wow, great advice! Thank you! I think you just saved me a bunch of $$. Appreciate it very much. As a law abiding citizen, I wouldn't want to skirt U.S. customs law anyway!

I would not send any money with the person. If he/she wants to spend their money on you to buy some glass-topped
Cohibas, that is fine. However let me tell you a quick story. Guy from work is going to Cancun for a week. He asks me
if I want him to pick me up some CCs. Of course I do, but I come with baggage. HE HAS to only shop at LCDH, or
bring me my cash back. I give him 200 bucks, which he uses for his trip fun then picks me up a couple of Mexican
Montecristos and a fake leather 3 finger case. Total spending on his part, probably 30 bucks. So he takes 170 of
my money and blows it on drinks. I THINK, anyway. He says, I did exactly what you told me. Yeah....right. I could
look at the cigars and tell you he lied. He bought some beach cigars and F'ed me. And your friend will F you. He may
not even KNOW he is F-ing you. But he will be so convinced by the 'salesman' that he will spend your money and NOT
go to the LCDH. And he will buy fakes.
