Cigar Preferences
Hi
I had a really interesting thought the other day. People usually base their decisions for smoking certain cigars based on tastes, asthetics, ratings and so on. I was wondering what everyone here prefers more when deciding their cigars? is length more important or is the ring gauge more important? For me the ring gauge is more important. Whats yours!? |

Re: Cigar Preferences
My favorite is corona followed by a tie between robusto and torpedo.
P.S. Check out this section and make a post please: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=7

Re: Cigar Preferences
Well it seems like LongKnocker prefers shape,
And everyone else prefers length? |

Re: Cigar Preferences
When trying a new smoke I mostly go for coronas or robusto.
But like Greg said depending on time will dictate if I smoke a toro or torpedo etc.

Re: Cigar Preferences
I usually head for the Maduros first followed by the ring gauge

Re: Cigar Preferences
I don't seperate the two in my decision making, they are equally important parts of a two step process.
Step One: How long do I have to smoke? This determines the length of the cigar I will choose. Step Two: What kind of flavor profile am I in the mood for? This determines both the ring gauge/shape and the marca of the cigar I will choose.

Would that be more vowels or fewer? As for myself, I like diphthongs.

Re: Cigar Preferences
I don't know about how others pick their smokes, but I tend to pick based on:
1. It has a flavor I am interested in 2. I have time to finish it RG, length, etc. may go in to #1, but are not normally a standalone criterion. Mind you, sometimes on skype we'll pick a theme such as CE, lonsdale, etc. but that is more the exception than the rule.
