Default Joya de Nicaragua Clasico claro toro

The Joya de Nicaragua Clasico was introduced in the 1960's and is currently for sale in more than 20 countries worldwide. The cigar is made with Havana seed tobacco from Nicaragua and a Connecticut shade wrapper. The toro measures 6x50 and I got it from a sampler with four different cigars, the Clasico, the Cabinetta, the Antano 1970 and the Celebracion.

The mild oily wrapper has a lot of veins, as I expect from Connecticut. The construction feels good. I smell straw and wood. The wrapper is thin. The predraw is loose and I taste spicy tobacco.

I taste a musty and acidic soil flavor, quite full and spicy. I even taste some pepper. After a quarter of an inch I also get an unpleasant bitter flavor. After an inch I taste a mild sweet wood, still a bit musty, and a mild acidic flavor in the aftertaste.

After a third the cigar gets a bit more spicy and halfway I taste musty straw which is also mild sweet. After two thirds the bitterness disappears. The cigar gets a bit better but still not pleasant enough to smoke again.

This cigar lasted me an hour and ten minutes. The draw was way too loose and the frayed pepper and salt colored ash is ugly but firm. I got a lot of smoke. The burn is good. This cigar is medium to full flavored and mild bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? No, just another Joya de Nicaragua that I didn't like
