Massive Fischer Price recall

I know that many here have kids and this seems to be a very large recall. Many different products.

Actually, there's only a few recent recalls. It looks like that page lists every Mattel recall going back to '98.

okay, 12 products totaling 2.9 million toys. Not massive to some.

From what the news said, most of these are for sharp edges. Would some one please explain to me why with supervision this should be an issue?
