Newbie: How'd I do?
Hello folks,
As I previously mentioned in the Newbie Samples Trade tread, I'm a BOTL from the cigar side of the board and I've recently gotten interested in pipes. Well tonight, I was suppose to be doing some work on my computer, when I ended up spending a couple hours on ebay! I guess all of you know how this will turn out... I was wondering if I could get some feedback from the BOTL's here about my purchases. I'm just going to take it as part of the learning process even if I did get ripped off/overpaid. I took all your advice, and stuck to the brand names mostly. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWNX:IT (Neverhead of this name before, but I loved how the pipe looked)$23 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWNX:IT $24.75 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWNX:IT $26 (loved this pipe from the start, thinks it looks really cool) I never knew ebay could get so exciting, waiting for that stupid clock to wind down. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks Phil |

Re: Newbie: How'd I do?
Don't they Pee-Pee in those pipes? That's what I heard.
JK, nice aquisitions there. Just read the 'old farts' thread cover to cover. It will answer all the questions you'll have coming up in the months to come. Unless that's what sent you to Ebay in the first place, in which case, happy smoking. |

Re: Newbie: How'd I do?
Some of those old farts will probably say, "Woo hoo. Way nice pipes at great prices. Enjoy them. Keep them clean. Tell us how they smoke. We will help you best we can if you have any problems."
Or not. They may tell you to piss off. You just never know with those old farts.

Re: Newbie: How'd I do?
very good deals. those Parkers can go upwards of 50-80 bucks sometimes, if not more, depending on shape/condition.
the german made one, don't know much about it, but should be a decent pipe for the little bit you paid for it. the stanwell is pretty nice looking, looks a little older, which is good (some of their newer, bottom line stuff is just that... bottom line). their older stuff is very solid, i have a # of older stanwells, probably smoke those the most of my pipes.

Re: Newbie: How'd I do?
I really appreciate the feedback from everyone. As a noob on this pipe-side of the forum, I will continue to listen/read and try to contribute to the forum in whatever way I can from now on.
Thank you |
