Default Oliva O Bold in paper

Yep, this was an Oliva O Bold in paper (see the linky). Every other one I have had was in the silk cloth band or the Oliva O Classics that come in paper. I smoked this one last night at a little herf I typically hold in my shed on Thurs nights. All i can say about this stick is if you like the red cloths, this one was twice as good!

No joking here, it was absolutly amazing. I can't pull out tones of African violets and white peppers as others can, BUT this was a definte top ten smoke for sure. I was smoking way to fast so as not to let any waste, snorking it and basically doing what I could not to waste it. All I know is Papa John hit me with some stellar goodness here. I have never seen anyone else even mention a O Bold in paper, but it is indeed a rare gem. John, many thanks for the great evening I had with it last night. It was paired with Gentleman Jack last night and they were a perfect fit.

I'm not a huge fan of the O Bold, cloth or paper. It's odd, because I really enjoy the Padilla Habano that's strikingly similar.
The O Bold has a sweetness that's kind of odd and offputting to me. On the other hand, it's got a distinct profile that's very interesting, and I can sure respect it as a very good cigar.
I LOVE the cloth and paper blue O's, and have made it my life's work hoarding them. Spectacular smokes they are.
If there's any brand of nc's that benefit from age, this is them. Normally I find that my nc's flatten out quickly after that 8 month to one year period when they're stellar. Oliva just gets better and better. They hang on to their strength, and it just spreads out and smoothes out to a beautiful smoothness that's tough to find among nc's.
Truly a remarkable blend from an excellent company.

I have a hand full of the Olvia Bold red paper label left. A little B&M near me was blowing them out for $1 a piece a little while back and I bought them out. Great smokes!

African violets and white peppers? I need a sensory transplant I think. I don't even know what African violets and white pepper would taste/smell like.

I have one that was given to me. I think I will light it up this weekend. I've heard they can be a pretty tasty and full bodied smoke.

I sure have. I really enjoy them. I'm pretty sure I did a review on them here. I'd look it up for ya, but I'm on my phone. Makes it kinda a pain.

Yep, you did.

To me the El Cobre's remind me a lot of the Oliva cloth bands. But let's keep that a secret.

You are correct, it was sorta sweet, Tbone called it floral..... Don't really know except it was just damn good! I like all the cloths, but this paper O Bold was better than any cloth I have smoked....

Again, that was no small cigar to bomb out, I do appreciate it. I'm glad to say I had one. I'ld have gone broke trying to snap those up when they were inn production. But I mean, you CAN live on beanie weanies and mac and cheese - right?
