Cabaiguan with a couple of years on them. They have hints but, of course, nothing is like a habano.

People will say Tatuaje but for me they are not even close. Nothing like a Habano as stated previously.

This is about the only stick that I find some similarities in to CC's. I dont find many similarities to any CC in most of Petes stuff. Not to say its not great. Infact in some instances I like them more. If I had to pick one I would agree with above. |

It's like asking "Which apples taste most like oranges?".

I was thinking the same thing.
Like asking which Dominican tastes most like a Nicaraguan. Or which Cabernet tastes most like a Shiraz or Merlot. They are different animals - each having their own unique characteristics.

Funny you should say that, because I do have one orange flavored apple in my humi. Or, a box and a half of them anyway.
![]() Partagas Cifuentes Seasonal Blends Junio, I believe. Last time I had one (almost a year ago) it tasted spot on like a party corona. So I had another.... it did too... and another.... same result. So, I bought another box. ![]() Haven't had one since. Who knows, they may taste like rabbit ass now, but they were good.

As most have mentioned, there is little to no comparison.
The vast majority of my consumption is in cuban cigars, however I don't mind mixing in a Nic Puro from time to time for a different taste. I don't have much of a taste for Honduran/Dominican anymore. I'd be much more successful in giving a list of cubans that have very strong non-cuban profiles (Los Statos, Cohiba Maduro, RyJ Cazadores). At the end of the day, I think you should consider 3 key points. 1. Cuban cigars may not be legal in your country. 2. Cuban cigars are almost ALWAYS cheaper than non-cuban cigars at the same 'quality level' 3. Smoke what you like.

Cigars are no different than foods or beverages.
The taste is acquired via our sense of smell and taste. That sense varies from individual to individual. Some have certain flavor sensors more developed or more acute than others. That said, there is a wide array of foods, beverages and vices such as cigars that pass through our senses and in turn are interpreted. For determining what can be labeled as what when it comes to these senses, what the masses perceive is probably the best barometer rather than what one or two or a few perceive. So...............if the masses taste CC's and find them nothing like NC's, that doesn't make the few dissenters wrong. It just means their senses are different in this regard to this flavor being picked up. Can some be fooled by NCs and think they are CC's? Sure, why not? Some of the NC's I have had lately are amazing. However, to me, they are still different. Can all be fooled? I say no way. So, whoever found a Cazadores to taste like a NC, that is their taste sensing profile speaking. The masses seem to disagree and perhaps that is the best barometer. Either way, doesn't make either side wrong. BTW, They are probably all made out of the same tobacco anyway as 90-95% are fake anyhow. That is why those Cazadores, Mag 50 and Mag 48 all taste like NC's. ![]()

I have smoked a lot of both and enjoy both. I haven't found any non-cuban that tastes like a typical cuban. But there are cuban cigars with a "unique" flavor (Vegueros) that taste pretty darn close to a non-cuban in my opinion.
