I was just alerted to this and it pisses me off!

When they made clove cigars illegal, what did they do? They made them twice the size, changed the paper and now they call them "small cigars". They are not small cigars, they are just larger cigarettes, give me a break. Here in California, we get commercials for a tobacco free CA, I just wonder what our streets and schools would look like without the tobacco tax. |

Re: Proposed New TAX!!!
We at PipesMagazine.com have been covering this story since it broke on Friday.
Bill Introduced to Further Raise Federal Taxes on Pipe Tobacco As a service to the pipe smoking community and the industry of pipe makers and pipe tobacco producers we have set up a free service that will automatically send emails to your Senators and Congressmen. We have already typed the letter for you. The system does everything. Just enter your address, we find the right contacts and send them your opposition to the tax increase. Stop the Pipe Tobacco Tax When you sign it, you will also have the option to have a physical letter hand delivered to them, as well as the free e-mail. The letter costs $3.00 per representative. I have 3 so called representatives so it cost me $9.00. That is only the cost of 1 tin of tobacco and is well worth it. |

Re: Proposed New TAX!!!
Recently I've been reading the posts by SilverFox and rhmalone, and watching the beginnings of their slide down another slope. It's been fascinating and informative and has gotten me interested in pipes. However, this thread has given me pause. I'm not sure I want to get into another hobby that our government seems bent on taxing out of existence.

Re: Proposed New TAX!!!
Until non tobacco users realize that their hobby will be the next target for the looters to get money it will continue. All citizens need to band together to stop this *&$%. When will enough people wake up?
