Jordan Told To Cut It Out
Well, it IS San Francisco, but I didn't know there were any courses that forbid smoking outside.

Re: Jordan Told To Cut It Out
I love how MJ apparently kept smoking it, what's a hundred dollar fine him? Nice way to show the city of SF the other reason a cigar is tapered.

Re: Jordan Told To Cut It Out
People get too carried away with legislation and it results in ridiculous stuff like this. What's the problem with smoking (outside!) on a golf course??? Or smoking in a cigar bar. If you don't like it, then go elsewhere!
Voting with your dollars works best, because then business owners can make a business decision as to whether to (continue to) allow smoking, or maybe create a well-ventilated smoking area. Instead people make the government decide, and governments don't do this very well... In Oregon a new law went into effect on Jan 1, 2009 that effectively made it impossible for a new cigar bar business. Only cigar bars in place in 2006, with receipts showing income from cigars could stay in business. The Oregon bar owners have petitioned the state because they have seen a 29% drop in revenue -- which equates to tax loss for the state as well... |
