I can remember back in 1982, when I would tell friends about Michael Jordan, and their response would be "Who? Never heard of him."
You think they've heard of him now? Congratulations. To err is human, but Air was superhuman. |

Not to throw a damper on things, but I thought MJs speech was petty and childish. No on will ever accuse him of being gracious and classy. Robinson and Stockton are both extremely gracious and classy guys, made MJ look even worse.

As a Knick fan, he and Reggie Miller were the two guys I hated to see in the Garden. Now as a Knick fan, I hate to see my own team in the Garden.
MJ was so much better than anybody else that laced up on the other bench. Nobody could touch him on the court. Off the court... well, we all know about his gambling issues, the failed attempts at baseball, and his terrible record as a front office guy. Either way we will never see a more talented, more exciting, and gifted basketball player in our lifetimes. |

Yeah, Mike lost style points with me back when he pushed for Matt Doherty to lead Carolina over Coach Smith's opinions otherwise. We all know how that worked out - not to mention that Matt himself lost points with his first official act in Chapel Hill: firing Phil Ford from the coaching staff. But still, we were priviledged to watch him, and the others too, play the game.
