stepless grinder question
Do you consider the zero point to be when the burrs first begin to touch, or when you slightly back off from the point the burrs begin to touch and no more noise is heard? I believe it to be the latter, but am not sure.
Do you mark the zero point to make it easier to find next time? I imagine this helps if you open up the machine to clean the burrs, but that may throw off the setting. From what I can tell, if you move 1.5 to 2 numbers coarser than the zero point, you are really close to being at the espresso sweet spot.

Re: stepless grinder question
My zero point is when I hear the burrs first clear each other. If I make any drastic grind changes, I expect to have to dial in my espresso grind when turning back. The zero point mark placed on a stepless, could be off by a full turn if you try to reset it purely by site.
