Wow....that will be very interesting. Makes me think I might actually watch more than just NBA highlights!

Re: Shaq Joins the Kings Court
I'm kind of skeptical about this deal.. Shaq is a hall of fame player but his best basketball is clearly behind him. How will he hold up over the whole season having to handle more of a load in Cleveland? In Cleveland he doesn't have all star talent in he frontcourt like he did in PHX. For sure we will be seeing the Cavs back in he Eastern conference finals, but they are going to need some depth and Verajeo to resign to make it further.

A few years ago I woula said wow, but I personally can't imagine his ego and diminished skills giving Cleveland a title, but we'll see.
I can't wait til next year Vince Carter in a magic uniform!!!

Re: Shaq Joins the Kings Court
It will definately be fun to watch that is for sure.
The Cavs at the very least get someone who is in the last year of his current contract and looking for his last multiyear contract - he will be motivated to do what he can to win. As for this keeping James long term - that is another question mark, they will have to pull off another coup next year in what many consider to be one of the largest free agent markets ever. I hope I'm wrong but the Carter trade looks real bad to me. Any early bets as to who the Lakers play on Christmas? |

As a Tar Heel, I've always wanted Vince to do well, but I fear his skills are past their prime. And he's always been up-and-down more than a monkey on Viagra, so I would not order those playoff tickets yet, Magic fans.

Re: Shaq Joins the Kings Court
I remember T-Mac coming to Orlando hoping he would be anything like his cousin Vince, now I hope Vince is nothing like his cousin T-Mac.
Carter is certainly not in his prime but his experience in close games at the end certainly can't hurt the Magic. He's also a product of Daytona and will be playing close to home and, let's face it, less toxic fumes than New Jersey might spark his game a little bit. He certainly will help getting Dwight the ball in the paint and add to an already good outside game. Kinda early to say, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando fighting it out in the East next year.
