Wedding Smoke
Hey Guys! I'm going this weekend to a wedding in Ocean City, MD for a good friend of mine! I am in the wedding party and he knows that I am an avid cigar smoker. As part of the gift for his groomsmen, he wants to add a nice cigar. He is looking to spend about $8-$10 for a stick.....he only want's to get one stick for the $8-$10 rather than multiple sticks! He is going to be picking them up at a place in Ocean City called Senor Cigars which when I visited their website said that they carry a ton of brands!! Any suggestions as to which cigars I should tell him to consider? I know that my tastes are maduro....strong sticks....but I have no clue what the other guys like (if they even smoke)! Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Well, too bad the Diamond Crown Maximus number 5 is now like $12 after SCHIP.
I'd suggest red label tatuaje if they carry them. If not, then get an Oliva Serie V maybe. The Padron thousand series cigars are a can't miss as well. |

Re: Wedding Smoke
I'm thinking A. Fuente Don Carlos.
Or, if he doesn't mind spending less but getting a tasty milder smoke, buy some El Rey del Mundos or Perdomo ESV 91's.

Re: Wedding Smoke
If we're talking about guys who, for the most part, don't smoke cigars, you might mention that to him that he doesn't necessarily have to spend $8-10 to get good cigars. It's not like they will know the difference anyway right?
and most likely, they will probably enjoy something on the mild side. The Padron thousand series was suggested. This is what I get for my dad when we play golf. Fuente is a good choice too for a few dollars more. |

Re: Wedding Smoke
Make sure whatever you get is small format. Spending 1 hour + smoking a cigar AT the wedding is just not possible.
I had a lovely 1985 RyJ Churchill lined up for my wedding, but there's no way I'll be able to fully enjoy it in the time frame allowed. |

Re: Wedding Smoke
A good Fuente green band will go well for anyone do the robusto.
Oliva G Carlos Torano (green label) Hoya de Monterey Excalibur Romeo and Julieta Tubos sand colored yellow band on tube all for under 10 bucks. |

Re: Wedding Smoke
Thanks for all of the advice guys!! I emailed my friend to give him a list of the brands that you guys provided here!! I have to check out Big Peckers too BAX!! I used to vacation in MD in my teen years (feels so long ago...I'm 30 now) and I went to Peckers a few times!! I loved the food there!! My fiance is coming down for the long weekend with me and she's never been to Ocean City/Fenwick Island so I have to take her to some of the nice spots!!

Re: Wedding Smoke
Anyone recommend Don Carlos yet?
Maybe the robusto would be a good size |
