Default Stop buying in the summer?

Last summer was my first summer of mail order purchasing and received a box with some beetles in it. After that experience, I cut back on purchasing until the cooler weather. I think I'm going to place my last order before the hot weather gets here and then take a break until fall (think I can do it?). Who else stops purchasing in the summer?

No, I will continue to buy, both online and in B&Ms. There are a few (very few) NCs that I am looking forward to purchasing. I do quarantine my online purchases, but I don't worry too much since everything gets put into my vinotemps at a nice 63 degree setting. BTW, if your purchases are coming from trusted sources, why worry?

I don't worry very much, mainly because I follow the "SilverFox" method of freezing anything that comes in before they get put into a humidor. That way, I can take advantage of any sales that come along.

I only buy from B&Ms, never online. If I can not put my hands on what I am buying, then forget it.

I'm debating this as well. Nothing like sitting in a black metal mailbox in 100 degree weather for several hours to put a hurtin' on a stogie!

I stock up during the cooler months and hold off on receiving any mail orders shipments during the summer months. I rarely go into B&Ms these days, but if I were to buy, it would be done locally.

I seriously don't believe a couple of days of elevated temps is going to bring on a beetle problem. No stopping here.

I stop mail orders during the summer, but usually go
to b&m's for a handful of special sticks for vacation,
my b-day, holidays, etc.

Buying slows but doesn't stop, over the summer.

I'm never in the US during the summer, so I generally stop my purchases around now. But ya, considering how warm the actual Post Office warehouse can be, plus the 3-5 day delivery time (not including Sunday), I'd be a bit on edge about buying online during the summer.

If I stopped for 'summer' temps I would only have three months a year to be able to buy anything. So I don't stop. I do switch to using my PO Box in the really hot summer months, over 100 average, for deliveries.

*Crosses fingers that new Vino doesn't let me down, along with PO A/C*

In the warmer months my online purchases slow way down. I usually will only buy something online in the summer months if I come across a smoking deal and I usually keep a separate humi to keep things out of the cabinet for at least 2 months to keep things quarantined.(I don't freeze although the idea is growing on me) I will buy from the B&M in the summer months the same as I would any other time of the year but again those purchases will go into quarantine since you don't always know when they may have had boxes shipped to them. I can promise that my smoking increases in the summer months though!

I usually slow to a crawl over the summer months due to the drop in mules heading to the ISOM....
