Default Smoke Rings

Time was folks here made a big deal about other inmates earning a new smoke ring, but nobody seems to pay any attention to this any longer. In fact I did a search, and the latest posting about I could find was over 8 years ago.

Not that I really care one way or the other, yet that does not mean I am not curious about this. Any thoughts?

I am not either, and doubt I ever earned one for trades as I do not do this, due to economic and mobility issues. All the ones I have gotten were because certain inmates found my posts either amusing or informative.

Yeah, that shocks me too.

Thanks for your input guys, but it really does not address my question. I understand that youse pay no attention to smoke rings, but I am wondering why it seems NOBODY is paying attention to them now. Like you point out, they mean little or nothing, yet this irrelevance is not the same as their disappearance from discussion. Hell, let's face it - as the Sturgeon quote in my tagline indicates, most of the stuff on this site has little relevance.

Instead of like, when someone made a post...or did something that was amazing...you clicked on the scales to the left, and bumped their rep, usually saying something about why.

I think it sort of died off because it isn't as easy as hitting a "like" button.

just my $0.02

Peace of the Lord be with you.

A haiku to the only true rings that matter -

Beautiful dawning
A large, perfect ring blows
at the perfect onion

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious. They stole it from us. Sneaky little hobbitses. Wicked, tricksy, false!

I find that limericks are best in this situation

Sitting with the Queen having tea,
She asked, "Do you fart when you pee?",
I thought for a bit,
Said, "Do you sneeze when you sh!t?",
And thought that was quite clever of me.

What does that have to do with smoke rings? Not a gosh damned thing....

I think this is the new "poetry" thread. Not sure this qualifies as poetry as it was just some silliness I thunk up one day as my boys and I were pondering one of life more comical moments. (you can blame Tom for putting it in my mind again) No, I do not use the song as a closing hymn.

The Flat(ulent)ch Man
by, Todd Jerabek

sing it to the tune of the Beatles song: The Tax Man

As food works in digestive tract,
He cannot help but produce gas.
...cause... CHORUS: ... he’s the flatch man,
Oh, oh, he’s the flatch man..

Give him baked beans he’ll eat them all,
And later still he’ll clear the hall.
...cause... CHORUS

German sausage mit sauerkraut,
Will surely make his buttocks shout.
...cause... CHORUS

A crowded room he’ll violate,
When gaseous fumes from him escape.
...cause... CHORUS

When forced too hard to flatulate,
A greasy stain will permeate,
… cause… CHORUS

When gas mixes with open flame,
Burning pants seams will water tame,
…cause… CHORUS

When gas he tries to slowly leak,
His nickname now is thunder cheeks,
…cause… CHORUS

Courteousness and common sense,
Would be to leave till gas is spent,
...not for the flatch man,
...oh, oh, he’s the flatch man...
