Default Dirty Rat Wrapper

Does anyone know if the wrapper on the Rats changed in the most recent production? Here is a picture showing the color difference between the original release and the latest release. The new ones are significantly darker. This is a photo of a buddys sticks so I have not had an opportunity to smoke the newer release to compare yet but figured I would see if anyone had any insight if they changed the wrapper or not. I know there will always be slight variations in wrapper color from batch to batch but the variations between these two are pretty significant.

Per my conversations with Jon, same leaf, this crop just came in darker. "Luscious" and "gorgeous" were words that he used to describe this batch of wrappers.

I've noticed color variations on the LP line up from LP9's, rats, and T-52's but none with that big of a color difference. I would smoke em both back to back nights maybe and see if there is really a difference in taste. I doubt there would be but I would be curious to hear your thoughts...

My most recent 52's are much darker than all the ones I had from last year, the new ones are almost as dark as my 9's. Not complaining though, they look superb!

Just the difference in age of the two smokes should make enough of a difference to notice. How much is due to the wrapper would be hard to tell.
