I just got the blackberry 9000 bold, with practically unlimited mobile internet.
I love it! Best mobile I've ever had, hands down. It's not cheap in australia, cost me about a grand on top of my current plan with telstra. Ouch!

The fine print of the Blackberry Storm NYC Giveaway states the following:

"A BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 Smartphone and a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): *$549 each."

So my guess is that if you want to buy the phone with no contract it will cost you $500.
With a contract is would be considerably less than that.

Yup... the current buzz is that it will be around $149 or $99 with a contract. Vodafone in england is giving them away with a contract and vodafone is verizon's European partner. So there is some speculation about them being free...

As long as they are $149 or less, I will sign with Verizon, ditch tmobile and have a new storm to play with!

Yeah, Vodafone are giving it away free on a Ł35/month contract... for 2 years, or a minimum of Ł40/month over 18 months.... so that's a minimum commitment of.... Ł840 over 2 years or Ł760 over 18 months. And that gives you 600 minutes and unlimited texts.

Yup... but Tmobile didn't yet lol... as far as I know Tmo still doesn't have a nation wide 3G network yet... which is why all the good phones are going to Verizon and ATT... so looks like its time for me to switch networks...

My decision is easy, Verizon has the best coverage around...

Yep. I had all sorts of problems with Cingular. It is hard for me to find a spot where I don't get service with Verizon.

Love my Blackberry Pearl. If this is even better, I'm buying! Verizon has no dropped signals and works everywhere I need it to!

You and me both. I use my Curve for way to many Emails to use a touch screen double tap keyboard. Love the bigger screen though!

Same here...everything I've read about the new BB is that it can't really handle media very well (pics, movies, music). Playback value isn't good.
