What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
Just curious on what your thoughts are on c.com's luxury collection.

I don't think any cigar is worth $150 a stick

Opinions vary.
Although nothing in the OPs link is of interest.

$150 for a Macanudo from Jamaica? I nearly pissed in my pants but then again, at my age, a regular occurrence.

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
The most expensive stick is $500.00
I agree there may be better ways to spend your money. However, I may be in the minority in saying this, but I may be spending some money there in the not to distant future. However, the hold up at his point is I rather buy a box of really nice cigars than one really old vintage cigar...... what to do? I do look at that page from time to time and just drool wondering what it would be like to smoke some of them. Although I suspect they would be mostly extremely mild and mellow. Curiosity may just end up getting the best of me |

For the price I'd rather have a box of good cigars that I know I enjoy.

I'm glad it's there for those who may like that sort of thing, not for me though.

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
That seems a little out of line for what is offered. Top dollar for good collector cigars, such as the 1492 or 1994 is not unreasonable, but $150 for a Macanudo?

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
None of those cigars interest me but, like we always say, buy and smoke what you like. I've paid $150 for a cigar and was worth it so much so that I bought 3 more. I'm saving them for big days of my life like my wedding day or birth of my first born.

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
I'm sure there are cigars worth +$150 out there. This site however, strikes me as remarkably expensive even for what they are selling. The GOF for example: a 2006 release (they came out in 2004 so not even an original release) for 50 bucks? I've gotten my hands on 2007 and 2008 three packs for less than $50 dollars. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'd rather it be on a good box. Just because something is rare and/or expensive doesn't make it good. Would I pay $750 for a Gurkha His Majesty's Reserve? Not even if someone put a shank to me. But hey, that's me.

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
Yes there are, there are cigars worth much more and cigars that are offered for much much more, luckily I have been afforded the opportunity to try some sticks that some people would consider "stupid expensive", in my opinion they were sublime and if I could afford it I would smoke them every single day.
Back to the OP, I see none of those through that link. It does come with instructions though, "To smoke this cigar, simply cut the head off and light it up.", I suppose if you actually paid 250 for that, gauging mental capacity, you might need instructions. |

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
That's a really cool find even if the cigars are over priced... The descriptions on most of them were pretty interesting, could you imagine smoking a cigar from 1868?

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
I've had a cigar from 1911. Interesting for sure but more for just the thought of it than the cigar itself. It cost me 30 bucks as I recall. Tasted musty and old and very, very mild. 30 dollars well spent in my opinion... that same experience for 500 bucks? Not so much.

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
I should wrap a few nice Habanos in gold leaf and sell them since leafing costs about a cent a sheet. Let me do the math.
Party short $5 + .07 cents for leafing = $250 per stick.... I'll be rich!!!!

Re: What are your thoughts on the Luxury Collection of Cigars
Wow, that's funny. I was just looking at that list before coming over here. The descriptions are interesting for sure, and the thought of smoking a cigar older than myself sounds cool but.............$150 for a single stogie? I can think of a few accessories for my bike I would rather spend that money on.
