Cool Bundles, Seconds and Over-Runs

While I enjoy name brand cigars, sometimes the loot is short so I buy bundled cigars, seconds or over-runs. I have found that these cigars are pretty good once they have been sitting in the humi for awhile.

I smoke everyday and 2 to 3 on Sat. & Sun. so it adds up pretty quick. By going to the lower priced brands I have been pleasantly surprised on more than once occasion.

Anyone Else?

Dan

I used to order 2 or 3 bundles of Connies every month. These seconds from the Villazon factory (Hoyo, Punch, ERDM, Ultimate) were often "seconds" only because the wrappers were blotchy or off-color, and smoked and tasted just fine, thank you very much. At $25-$40/bundles of 25, they were, and still are, as close to a steal as one can find.

Hmmm, mebbe I should get me some right now!

Nope not me... the more money I spend on a cigar means the better quality it must be.

I primarily stock my humidor with lower-priced sticks like Perdomo Slow-aged or IT Super Fuerte, which I've found are as good or better than many "high end" smokes.
I take advantage of samplers or c bid to try out more expensive sticks.

Those Perdomo Slow-Aged are surprisingly good smokes......especially for the money. I've got 2 left resting in the humi right now.....time for a refill.

I smoke a cigar or 2 everyday, so inexpensive cigars are my thing. Slow Aged 826 Maduro, IT Maduro and SF Mad., and a few others are my go to. I buy better cigars to add to trades so as not to offend.

Searching for a "diamond in the ruff" is one of my favoite past times. If I can find a low priced, off the radar smoke that turns out to be a winner, I've had a great day! It's like a mini victory for me.

Cool Re: Bundles, Seconds and Over-Runs

Well good to see I'm not the only one on the BB.

I broke down and bought a bundle of "Black Sheep" and 2 boxes of "Argyle" from Holts. I was surprised that they were pretty good. Good flavor and good burn.

The Honduran and Nicaragua over-runs needed lots of time in the humidor before burning right and tasting right.

Troop Habano Robusto from Kioki Cigars are fantastic value for money, taste and smoke well too (can't wait to try some with age on them) and AndyMadera's Reserva MiraFlor's are great, top, really good!

Everyone knows I love me some Tampa Sweethearts in Maduro, not so much the naturals though. Have not had anything that comes close to the #500 Maduro under $10.

I buy the best tasting cigars I can find and if they are seconds,,,no problem at all. If they are other cigars that are not the "in" cigars I don't care as long as it pleases me. Smoke what appeals to you,,,it doesn't have to be the popular cigars as I experiment and buy lots of other cigar brands. So far I have had cigars that are deemed "unknowns" to most but are very good cigars and that includes CC's.

I have to give props as well to Famous Nic 3000, Flor de Oliva's and the ITC Super Fuerte's.

A couple others that I like, that aren;t bad for an everyday stick. Especially if they rest for a little while:

Roly's aren't a bad second if one prefers a medium to strong smoke.
