This could have been serious
Subtitle: The danger of distracted smoking.
My typical Saturday morning involves a good cup of coffee, a cigar and the internet. I was enjoying it so much that I decided to have a second cigar this morning. I chose to put away a Punch Punch. As usual with this box, another VERY tight draw. I poked it a couple of times and fired it up. The draw began to tighten up again as I smoked. It needed another poke. I was reading something that must have been way too interesting while I poked my lit cigar. I pulled out my poker and took a puff ... nothing ... WTF. I looked ... no ash. Huh? I looked down ... there it was ... a big ol red cherry ... right in the middle of my lap. I jumped up, shook it onto the floor and stomped it out. Then I saw the quarter size hole it had burnt in my sweatpants. And the location of the hole was, shall we say, strategic. Another 10 seconds and I would have been in some serious pain in a very "ahem" sensitive area. Pay attention boys. |

That's pretty nuts (pun not intended ). I've had ash drop in my lap a few times, but never the burning portion. Guess I'll have to start paying more attention when a piece falls.

And I thought herpes and syphillis were painful. That would have taken the cake.

Re: This could have been serious
That happened to me the other day while smoking in my car. I rarely do this.. but sometimes (after a f$CKed up day at work) I do. I try to be careful.. but damn this hunk of fiery ash fell right into my lap while I am driving. What can you do? I just took the hit and smeared it with my hand burning it and my jeans. I figure better to spread it around than let it burn in one spot as a large chunk. I know.. coulda used the ash tray but I keep change in there :-)
