I've got wood
Ok, so it's not really wood. It's TimberTech XLM decking made out of PVC for about as maintenance free as you can get.
The current deck is pre-treated and not holding up in a number of seems due to it being nailed rather than screwed, so I just want to put in something that will look nice and require as little maintenance as possible. I found this on craigslist from a wholesaler for $2/ft (compared to ~ $3.50/ft locally and even after paying a guy a little less than $500 to pick it up, I still saved $2k. There evidently was an issue with this color having some board fade with some white spots. He said he's had them long enough if they were going to fade, it would have done it by now. Even if they do fade, the manufacturer will honor the warranty on them. I even have 20+ people offering to disassemble it and take they existing decking for free tear down and hauling of the old stuff. |

Re: I've got wood
Sounds like a nice deal there. That stuff gets pretty damn expensive, but the fact that it doesnt rot and need less care is great.

Great! You will love the look with the hidden fasteners. Enjoy the new deck.
