La-a
This is a story that has gone around my hometown for a number of years now and is supposedly true, though I've never been able to verify it. My lack of faith in humanity anymore makes me believe it.
At the beginning of a new year a teacher is going through kids names for attendance. She comes upon "La-a." She calls out, "Is... La-uh here?" pronouncing it like most every one would seeing a name like that. A girl in the class raises her hand and corrects the teacher with a sigh, "It's Ladasha." Just let that sink in a bit. |

You are all laughing...I had a student in one of my classes last and her name was K-A...pronounced K-dash A...her military ID card verified it. UNREAL!!
